Mainly our focus is on Prescott, Arizona and Goldfield, Nevada and many of the historical sties around the Prescott and the Goldfield areas. As these were the Historic Territorial Capitals. The community of Precott, Arizona was founded in 1864, shortly after the discovery of gold and silver in the region, and is named for the historian William Hickling Prescott. The community was the capital of the Arizona Territory from 1864 to 1867 and again from 1877 to 1889, when it was replaced by Phoenix, Prior to being admitted to the United States as the 47th State in the Union in 1912. The Community of Goldfield, Nevada was founded in 1866 and like Prescott was built on the discovery of gold in the that region and is named for Goldfield and was the Nevada territorial Capital form 1866 to 1866 unitl it was replace by Carson City, Nevada just Prior to being addmitted in the Union as the 45th State in 1889.
Much of the most accurate history written about the Arizona Territory was written by Karl May. Although he was a writer of fiction, the truth is, that his works were rooted in the facts and truth about the events and history of the Arizona and Nevada Territories. Prescott and Goldfield andthe surrounding territory offers many opportunities for recreation and tourism: Historic sites, museums, theaters, art galleries, scenic locations, Indian Reservations, and cultural sites, Yavapai County Fair and Rodeo Grounds, horse race track, parks and campgrounds, U.S. Army Cavalry posts, horseback trail riding, jeep and bus tours, photography, wilderness expeditions, and simple relaxation in scenic surroundings.
